Glendale DOG resort is the correct name.
No cats, just FYI.
WOW! Great positive energy! Epi has applied his passion, knowledge and insight into a healthy and safe cage-free kennel environment. I bet once you visit Glendale Pet Resort you will feel the same, and so will your best friend. I would leave my pet here in a heartbeat.
I am very happy with this place. Epi and his staff are very nice and loving to our dogs. When I go out of town and call them, Epi will give me a thorough account of how our babies are doing. He is very accommodating and we are comfortable leaving our babies there, as we travel frequently and recently had to leave them there for 9 days. I have recommended this place to my friends as well.
I guess the reason this place has 5 stars is only one person has taken the time to review...so now it's my turn. This place was a little dirty, the staff unfriendly and the boarding conditions were secretive and a little concerning. Unfortunately, I didn't have much of a choice and didnt start getting over-worried until I dropped my pups off. Now a little background to explain why I would drop them off at a place I give only one star.
A family emergency came up only 1 week after I moved to southern california. I knew no-one, had no experience in the city, didnt even have a local vet for my dogs yet to rely on...after some research online and by calling local vets, I found this place - close to my house and it looked ok. I wish I had kept looking. Unfortunately no-one else had any openings that weekend so I was stuck.
I went to drop my dogs off at about noon on a Friday. I brought their shot records and papers for the file. The check in guy never even asked for them. As I was leaving, I brought them up to see the response, I was told "I dont need them right now" - if not now, when? Do no dogs need shot records? Lovely!
Problem #1: Since this was an unexpected trip, I didnt have time for a tour before hand. When I showed up, the check in guy refused to let me look in the back area where the dogs would be boarded. I didnt wan to go in there, just peer through the very tiny window they have...nope - not a chance.
Problem #2: The place smelled strongly like urine and dirty litterbox. Not sure when the last time was they cleaned in there...but if the greeting area/lobby smelled like this, what does the "play" area smell like?
Problem #3: The lights in the lobby were all off as if they were closed or something (they weren't). This gives a very shady feel to the place. What are they hiding? Why can't I see much in the room?
Problem #4: One of my dogs actually started to cling to me (unfortunately I took this as he was worried about going to a new place - you'll see toward the end that I was wrong)
Problem #5: The guy taking the dogs didnt take them to the "play-area" talked about on the website - he put them in a "holding pen" which was just a crate a little larger than the dogs were.
I hoped all weekend that they would be all right.
When I picked them up, same situation...lights dim-off. This time I noticed that the lobby didnt look clean.
Problem #6: When the guy took them from the back room that I still wasnt allowed to look in, my dogs had their tails between their legs and one of them actually peed. Not in excitement, but in what I can only take as fear or joy at being free finally. He looked concerned and was shaking.
I literally snatched them from the guy, threw down the money I owed and left - never to return.
They always take great care of my dog, Kaya. She kinda hates coming home I think.
